Help and safety

For Lagos Life on the web and the Vatar app (Vatar: Life in Your City). No login needed to read this page.

Get help

In the game: Phone → Support → Contact support, or Chat with support for a back-and-forth with the team. Your @username goes with your message, so the team knows who you are. You'll get the answer as a chat in the game.

Without logging in: use the report form for bugs, payments, cheating or a security problem. It gives you a reference to check later.

By email: support@vatar.com. The in-game message or the report form is faster.

Report a player or something you saw

Tap ⚑ Report on a player's profile, in a chat, or on a Lagos Gist post. The team sees what was said and acts on it: a warning, a mute, or a ban.

Block someone from their profile: they can't message you, and you won't see them in your chats. Unblock any time in Settings → Blocked players.

Who can message me (Settings) lets only your friends start a chat. The chat filter stops selling, scams and abuse, and accounts that keep breaking the rules are muted automatically.

Never share your password, and never pay anyone outside the game. The team will never ask for your password.

Community rules

Lagos Life is for everyone 13 and over, so what you post in public (Lagos Gist, Hustle, names, slogans, song titles, court) must be safe for them. Posts that break these rules are taken down automatically, straight away:

  • Sexual content, nudity, or selling or asking for sex (hookups, “runs”, premium snaps and the like)
  • Anything sexual involving anyone under 18, or asking young players for pictures, their age or to meet: reported to the team at once
  • Bullying, threats, hate or slurs against anyone, including tribe or religion
  • Drugs, weapons, scams and money doubling, real-money betting, and selling accounts or game money
  • Phone numbers, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Telegram or other handles to take people out of the game
  • Pretending to be the Vatar team

Some things are fine for adults but kept from players under 18: swearing, flirting and dating talk, drinking and clubbing, and betting with game money.

All the rules, with what happens when one is broken: Community Guidelines.

Three posts taken down in a day mutes you for 24 hours. If you think we got it wrong, contact support (Phone → Support → Contact support): the team checks and puts it back.

If you're going through something hard, you're not alone: talk to someone you trust, call 112 in Nigeria, or find a free helpline near you at findahelpline.com.

Can't get in?

On the login screen, tap Forgot password? and answer your owner questions to choose a new password. If that doesn't work, tap Can't get in? → Ask the team: you get a ticket to check from the same screen.

Someone else got into your account? After a wrong password the login screen offers Think someone else changed it? → Tell the team. If you're still logged in, use Settings → Security → Someone stole my account.

Delete your account

In the game: Phone → Settings → Account → Delete account. Or on the web at lagoslife.app/delete. You have 30 days to change your mind by logging in again.

Teens and parents

How teens are kept safe, step by step: lagoslife.app/child-safety. Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation: Child Safety Standards.

Vatar is for people aged 13 and over. Players aged 13 to 17 play in a teen space: they only meet other teens, and adults can't see or message them. Betting, the casino, money tables, real-money purchases and 18+ venues are closed to them. Until the teen space opens, accounts must be 18 or over.

A parent or guardian who wants to ask about or delete a teen's account can write to support@vatar.com with the @username. If anyone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Your data

How we use your information, who processes it and your rights are in the privacy policy. The rules of the game are in the terms.
